I'd like to try again next spring to have Carmine Guida. He's a lot of fun doing "dancind with drummers classes". He needs a dance teacher with some experience to help him. We can con-join with the Houston folks, Ayana, and/or some one from Austin, and share the flight expenses that way. He like to do two two-hour classes, and a drum jam/hafla sort of thing in the evening.

Cassandra from Minneapolis . . . I am going down to Houston at the end of May to take a workshop from her for the first time in many years (as Sirrom School). She is on my list of top teachers/performers . . .Egyptian style. I went to Oasis Dance Camp a couple of times because I like her so much and she isn't in this part of the country too often.

Not sure if Isis has brought her to Ya Halla.

Another one to consider . . . Jasmin jahal from Chicago . . . another great teacher and lots of fun!!

I know I have Jasmin on my list too! Though she was just in Austin last year! ;-)

I'd like to second the vote for Yasmina... love her!!

would also love to take from Casandra as I haven't had the chances.

Love Ava and Aziza to death and would follow Aziza around the globe if I could afford it.

How bout Bahaia? Even if we get to travel down to Austin and take a class its not the same as doing a whole weekend workshop... but then I'd also follow B around the globe... or at least down to Austin ;-)

I say yes to Bahaia I love her drum solo's she has her very own laid back but powerful style to them. I would love to have an all day workshop on her drum solo style. Tamra Henna also would rock with a leb style drum solo class.

I forgot . . . TamraHenna from Los Angeles!!! She teaches so well and I've enjoyed both workshops I've had with her.

Bahaia had her in Austin a few years ago.

She was at Cairo Nights (Little Egypt) last year . . . but only taught the 2 hr classes but both were well worth it. One class was baladi vs classical egyptian where she taught how the same movements would be used differently in those styles . . . she tricked us and had us doing a full dance at the end of the class by putting together combinations of the movements she taught, lol!!!

I second the Tamra Henna of California suggestion. I took her class at Hot a few years ago but I wasn't quite "ready" for it then, and i would love to have another shot. She taught a really hard cane routine (at least, I sure thought it was hard then, Rasha?) anyway, yeah. Tamra Henna.

But honestly, if you bring anyone that I haven't seen in a while (that I know of) and doesn't come to town much, I'd go for sure.

Yes, January, I agree. It was hard...fun but hard! I'd love to take from her again though. I think the top of my list of the ones discussed is Michelle Joyce.

Michelle Joyce and/or Sandra would be fantastic.

I'm hosting her at Camparet this year, but Princess Farhana has a lot of workshop subjects to teach, and she's a very fun, dynamic person.

Oh, and VIRGINIA! She needs to come back to Texas.
