La Divina Management is very pleased to formally announce that we are sponsoring a Burlesque workshop featuring the super talented Michelle L’amour. We are bringing Ms. L’amour in from Chicago especially for this event. The workshop will take place between 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Saturday March 21, 2009. The workshop will take place at the Move Studio 17062 Preston Road, Suite 108, Dallas, Texas 75248. Please see www.movestudio.com
The workshop fee is $70.00.
The Teacher:
Michelle L'amour (Miss Exotic World 2005) has made her name internationally over the last six years as an award winning burlesque performer seen by millions of theater and television audiences. As an instructor, she's taught over 2500 women through her workshops and classes. In 2008, L'amour released a successful instructional DVD series called "Tools of the Tease" that are available through her website . Whether tearing up the stage and small screen, or being featured in "Women's Health" and as an instructor for the Berman Center, Michelle L'amour is bridging the gap for thousands of women who want to know how to feel and be sexy. As an instructor, she's taught more than 2500 women, been featured in magazines like Woman's Health and is often called upon by Dr. Laura Berman (of Showtime's "Sexual Healing") to lend her talents to women struggling with their self esteem.

I studied with her for a short time in Chicago and also had the pleasure of dancing in class with her when she studied belly dance.
She was also featured on America's Got Talent.
Look her up on You Tube she does a great Snow White number and one with balloons that it out of this world! -

Honestly, all forms of dance can help you in belly dance. And vice versa. If I ever had a Saturday off from working, I'd totally go to this.
Oooo, or pole dancing (which I do know is not the same as burlesque). -

Wed, March 11, 2009 - 8:44 PMI know more than one belly dancer who mixes in some burlesque moves. I saw a dancer who was doing a fusion piece and I could not figure out what form of dance was fused in even though I could see that second style. It was burlesque and did not come off as risque. I think it has its place in the right venue and considering how popular different middle eastern fusion styles are currently it's no surprise some dancers are looking to burlesque for fresh ideas.
